NMFit: Swim Pop Up Event at Bloomingdale’s

While Elaine shared the latest swim looks and how to style them I offered customers swimsuit inspired workouts to get them ready for their bathing suit debut! Check out a few of the moves below.

Goddess Arm Plies (Beyond Barre: works arms & thighs)

Starting in second position ( feet pointed outward just outside the hips), bend knees while raising the arms with palms facing up. Extend the legs and lower the arms with palms facing the ground.

Do this for 8 reps for 3 sets.

Lunge Tap Out (Beyond Barre Move: works thighs, hamstrings, and butt) 

While standing in front of a ballet barre or behind a chair light place the palm of hands on the barre or chair for balance.  Step the right foot back and bend the left knee to lower right towards the floor. From this lunge position tap the right toe in and extend the leg back. Repeat and switch legs.

Do this for 8 reps for 3 sets.

Tricep Dips with Table Top

While seated on the floor having your feet and fingers facing forward place the palms of your hands on the floor aligned with your shoulders, raise your butt off the floor until you are in tabletop position.  Having your elbow face behind you lower you body into a tricep dip and slowly return to starting position.  Make sure not to lock your elbows.

Repeat this move for 8 reps for 3 sets.
